A key concept required to identify and understand your anxiety-inducing triggers is the idea of cognitive distortions. Cognitive distortions are when our mind creates patterns of thinking that are slightly off from reality. Over time, these distorted patterns become our own reality, making it difficult for us to evaluate whether we are really seeing what is true. Our understanding of the world around us shifts based on our own biases and perspectives. This in turn can influence our responses and reactions to the world around us.
